Our Story
Casa da Lagoa is one of the houses people recognize from the shore: the pink chalet, the garden, and the water are part of the visual memory of Lagoa das Furnas.
Built in 1867 by architect George Aumont, it began as José do Canto's fishing pavilion on the south shore of the lake. The Franco-Swiss chalet keeps that close relationship with the water, the garden, and the volcanic landscape of Furnas.
Today it welcomes quiet stays in a recently renovated family house, with warm interiors and the lake always close. From the living and dining rooms, the house opens to a balcony overlooking Lagoa das Furnas. Outside, the garden, private parking, and access to Mata-Jardim José do Canto make the stay easy and deeply connected to the place.
